Man in dock on cocaine smuggling charge

A man is due in court later accused of attempting to smuggle cocaine worth around £200,000 into the county.

UK Border Agency officers found about five kilos of the drug in an Audi car stopped at Dover's Eastern Docks on Friday night after arriving on a ferry from Calais.

The driver of the car - a 56-year-old man from Leicester - was questioned by Customs officers and later charged.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Dover today.
