Girl and grandmother injured

A schoolgirl and her grandmother were taken to hospital on Monday after an accident in Frith Road, Dover.

The girl, aged 12, was walking to school with her 59-year-old grandmother when they were hit by a car which had been hit from behind by another car.

One driver, a 57-year-old man from Whitfield, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, and has been released on bail.

The girl was released from hospital on Monday afternoon, but the grandmother is receiving treatment for spinal injuries.
