'Baseball bat' fight caused delays of 40 minutes for train users at Dover Priory

Electricity was switched off at Dover Priory railway station last night after a fight reportedly involving a baseball bat broke out on the tracks.

The incident happened at about 9pm, causing delays of up to 40 minutes while the police investigated.

A passer-by, who asked not to be named, said a group of people were heard outside the station using "foul language."

He said: "The biggest disruption was for the people who had no trains for about 40 minutes.

"The group had been outside the station hanging around."

The police say that four Dover men claimed they had been chased by some other men who left in a blue car.

A spokesman added: "No allegations have been made and no one has reported any injuries."
