Andrew Hammond, 48, of Crabbile Hill, Dover, accused of sending depraved Skype messages concerning children

A man is accused of sending depraved messages over Skype describing the rape of babies and young children.

Andrew Hammond, 48, of Dover, faces eight other charges concerning indecent images of children.

He has pleaded guilty to all nine allegations.

Folkestone magistrates on Wednesday immediately transferred the case to Canterbury Crown Court and the date for his first appearance there is to be fixed.

Apart from the Skype messages allegation, of publishing an obscene article, he faces two charges concerning possessing indecent images of a child, last August 30.

In addition there are three charges of distributing an indecent image of a child between May and July last year.

There are also three charges of making an indecent image of a child between January 2012 and August 2016.

Hammond, of Crabbie Hill, was remanded on conditional bail.
