Air ambulance lands at Pencester Gardens, Dover

An air ambulance landed in a town centre park today.

It arrived at Pencester Gardens, Dover, this morning.

It has now been confirmed that it was called out to a medical emergency, in which a man collapsed.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports that a person had collapsed at the coach station on Pencester Road, at approximately 9.10am.

"Land ambulance crews attended the scene and were joined by the air ambulance service.

"The person was treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) in a serious condition."

During the emergency a police car blocked the one-way Pencester Road, at the Maison Dieu Road end were traffic would come in.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police were called to assist the South East Coast Ambulance Service with a medical incident.

"The road was closed whilst a man received treatment and he’s since been taken to hospital."
