KAREN STUPPLES is preparing for a tough challenge in the inaugral Women's World Cup of Golf, which starts on Saturday in South Africa.

It is being held at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate on South Africa's Garden Route and every player in the field competing for the $1m purse knows how difficult the course can be.

Stupples, from Deal, is spearheading the England team with Laura Davies and she is aware of the course's dangers.

The Weetabix Women's Open champion said: "It's a tough, tough course. There is a lot of water and marshy areas that you have to be aware of.

"You really have to place the ball well off the tee, and even more so with your second shot into the greens because the greens are so tricky.

"Anything that is not on the correct side of the pins is going to leave you some unusual putts, or even roll off the green and leave you with a tricky chip."
