DEAL & Betteshanger Rugby Club are to hold a memorial match for their former youth team player Chris Emson, who died in a road crash in May two days after his 18th birthday.

The match, against Ashford, will be held at the Drill Field on Sunday, September 23 (2pm).

Phil Wheeler, the Lions 3rd XV team manager, said: "The Lions squad will be made up entirely of Chris’s fellow team-mates who played with him over the past few years.

"The team will be captained by my own son, Philip, and the referee will be Mike Emson, Chris’s father. It would be a wonderful tribute to Chris if the match was well supported."
