Dover Athletic manager Chris Kinnear could not hide his disappointment after the postponement of Tuesday night’s Kent Senior Cup quarter-final against old rivals Dartford.
The game was called off on Tuesday morning due to a waterlogged pitch at Princes Park and Kinnear was left to hastily arrange a training session on a 3G surface at Faversham.
The Whites boss admitted: “I was disappointed. We were hoping to have three trialists playing and we’d have given some playing time to a few more who could have done with a game, like Ricky Modeste.”
Kinnear refused to expand on the identity of the new faces but added; “I’ll look at them in training but you need to see them in a game before you do anything.”
Kinnear was also aggrieved as the tie would have served as one game of Nathan Elder’s three-match suspension. He said: “We wanted to get it on, 100%.”
