POLICE have named a young man who was killed in a car crash in Kent at the weekend.

He was 18-year-old Ross McKinnon, who lived at Walmer. He died on the Deal-Sandwich road at Worth on the A258.

Two other young men from Deal, one aged 19 and the other 20, were also in the red Ford Fiesta. Both were seriously injured. They are in the intensive care unit at the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

Mr McKinnon celebrated his 18th birthday only two weeks ago. The tragedy happened at around 1am on Sunday. Firefighters had to cut one of the men from the car which left the road. No other vehicles were involved.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the one-car accident. Anyone with information is asked to telephone 01622 600970.

The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
