The judo section of the Deal Bushido Martial Arts Club have plenty of reasons to celebrate after coach Wesley Cousins finished second at the World Masters Judo Championship in Atlanta, Georgia.

Competing in the 30-35-year-old 73kg category, Cousins narrowly missed out on the title after losing to former Brazil Olympic team member Alan Leonardo.

Closer to home, the club won three gold medals at the Bushido Za-Zen National Judo Championships in High Wycombe. Chris Coulson claimed the under-100kg and open black belt titles and Shaun Cullen took the 100kg-plus event.
