Walmer Science College pupil Dan Seagrove-Castle is runner-up in National Schools' Biathlon Championships

Dan Seagrove-Castle and Sam Woodard both finished in the top eight in the Year 11 National Schools' Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace Sports Centre on Sunday.

Walmer Science College pupil Seagrove-Castle (right) finished second and Woodard who studies at Dover Grammar School was eighth.

Seagrove-Castle set two new personal bests, 2.49.00secs, winning the 1000m run, beating his old time by 15 seconds, and finishing second in the long course swim in 55.11.

Woodard improved on his run time by 14 seconds, finishing in 2.56.69, and then won his swimming heat in 59.36 seconds.
