A volunteer for the KM Walking Bus has won a top prize of a P&O Ferries voucher.

Margaret Biggs of Hornbeam Primary School, Deal, won the voucher for a five-day return trip for a car and up to nine passengers, after been automatically entered into a prize draw along with other Walking Bus volunteers in the county.

Mrs Biggs said she was surprised and delighted by the win and hoped to take the family on a trip to France.

P&O Ferries is a loyal supporter of the Walking Bus. Spokesman Brian Rees said: “We are a big company in Kent and many of our employees have families at school in the county, so it is important we support the wider community to get children to school safely and in the fresh air.”

As well as the Kent Messenger Media Group, the Walking Bus, which is a KCC-led initiative is sponsored by Denne Construction, Ringway, Veolia Environmental Services, Eurostar, AXA PPP healthcare and The Co-operative.
