People rescued from cliffs at Dover

Two people have been led to safety after becoming stuck on the cliffs at Dover.

The alarm was raised at 12.15pm today when reports were received that the pair were trapped on the cliffs near the visitor centre at Langdon Cliffs.

Fire crews from Dover and a special line rescue team from Deal were called. A fire service spokesman said the couple were walking on a footpath near the cliff edge when one of them suffered a panic attack.

Fire-fighters located them and led them to safety.

The incident was closed at 1.26pm.
