A big bear created out of scrap metal is taking shape for a guest appearance at a three-day village event at Ash.

Artist and sculptor Emily Stone is working her magic on the nine-foot animal, which will go on display at an Art Exhibition and Sale at St Nicholas Church.

She said: "Other animals I have made in the past range from a 5ft elephant to little butterflies."

Her big bear will be on show with other exhibits from 10am on Saturday, May 2, and other events include during the three days include a village treasure hunt and a children’s art competition.

Members of the Friends of St Nicholas Church are the organisers and profits go to the charity.
