Dover Athletic manager Nicky Forster has called for his side to show more "resilience" as they bid to keep their season alive.

Forster and chairman Jim Parmenter both voiced criticism of the team after last Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Welling United, and then on Tuesday Whites suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Hythe Town in the Kent Senior Cup semi-final.

The Welling defeat left Dover 10 points behind Sutton United in the final play-off spot in Blue Square Bet South and Forster admitted: "We’ve got to find some resilience about us because if you keep getting turned over by the top sides you’ll never get where you want to go.

"Welling are a good side and that’s why they are in the top three. But I don’t think they played particularly well yet they’ve gone away with three points.

"There are still lots of points to play for and we’ve got to play Chelmsford and Sutton United at home and they are games we’ve got to get maximum points from."

Chelmsford come to Crabble on Tuesday and if Whites can beat them and also win their two games in hand the gap between the two teams will narrow to just two points.

However, they must negotiate a tricky trip this Saturday to Salisbury, who proved obdurate opposition when they drew 1-1 at Crabble at the end of January.
