KENT Police are still appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident.

Cicely Hearn, 84, was crossing London Road in Deal on Friday, December 22, at about 4.50pm when she was struck by a small, light coloured car.

The grandmother, from Walmer, suffered serious leg and head injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

The driver of the car left the scene before police arrived and did not leave their details.

Police are anxious to speak to the driver of the car, anyone who may have information with regard to this person’s whereabouts or who has seen the car.

It is believed that the vehicle would have had substantial damage, including broken headlights.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kent Police's serious crash investigation unit on 01622 798537.
