Motivation high in Dover Athletic squad

Motivating his squad is not an issue, according to Dover Athletic boss Martin Hayes as the club’s Blue Square Bet South play-off race heats up with a trip to Weston-super-Mare.

Whites missed the chance to move into the top-five after being held to a goalless draw at Havant & Waterlooville on Monday.

However, despite missing out on the win, Hayes (pictured) has declared himself pleased with recent performances and says motivation among the camp has not been an issue.

Hayes said: "I haven’t had to motivate the players as they know they have a chance to play Conference National football next season and it is up to them now.

"I will learn more about my players in these last five games than the entire first 20 matches.

"It’s going to be tough. We owe Weston-super-Mare a victory after the previous game against them which was a dark day in our season.

"It is a long trip down there which doesn’t help but the boys played well against Havant and if we can keep playing like that, I will be happy."
