Deal rower Hannah Moon has been selected to represent Great Britain in the quad sculls in the Junior European Championships in Cork, Ireland, starting on July 19.

The 17-year-old Sir Roger Manwoods pupil earned her place at last month’s trials and her father John said: "It’s a good achievement by Hannah considering she missed the winter season through injury."

Hannah’s younger brother Luke competed at Henley Royal Regatta. The 15-year-old, the youngest competitir in the regatta, was in the Tideway Scullers School J15 quad who were beaten in the first round of the Fawley Challenge Cup by Windsor Boys School.

Tomorrow (Wednesday)Luke is competing in trials for the Great Britain v France junior international.
