Man dies in roof fall

A Maidstone man has died after falling from the roof of a building.

Police were called at 11.30am on Monday after the man fell from the top of the Joem Gallery building in Victoria Road, Deal, into the court yard at the back of the Hey Hey Chinese take-away.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Jenny Spencer-Griggs works at RS Whites Estate Agents and was alerted to the incident by the manager of the take-away.

She said: "He was at the gallery and had gone there to repair a leak. It looks like he fell from the very top of the roof."

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance crew was called and confirmed that the man died at the scene."
