Prince of Wales Terrace closed after man believed to have fallen from Queens Flats in Deal

A road has reopened after a man fell from a block of flats.

Prince of Wales Terrace by Deal Castle was cordoned off for around three hours while emergency services deal with the incident at Queens Flats.

It's understood a fisherman witnessed the man tumble to the ground before raising the alarm at about 2.30pm.

David and Dorothy Court were walking along the sea front when they claim to have heard a noise.

Mrs Court said: "We both looked up thinking it was a flowerpot that had fallen and then the fisherman from across the road ran across shouting 'Oh my God!"

"My husband tried to get the ambulance but he couldn't get a signal but the fisherman got it."

The patient, who eyewitnesses say was a window cleaner, is understood to have fallen behind a brick wall onto an area not visible from the promenade.

The couple say another passer by clambered over the wall to sit with the casualty, with the first emergency service vehicle arriving within five minutes.

Mrs Court added: "If we had been the only one's here and hadn't noticed, he could have laid there and nobody would have known."
