Hit-run driver sought by police

KENT Police are appealing for information after a woman pedestrian received serious head and leg injuries in a collision with a car.

The car driver left the scene before police officers arrived and did not leave his details.

The 83-year-old pedestrian, from Deal, is currently at the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital at Margate. Her condition is described as "stable but poorly".

The collision happened at about 4.50pm on Friday, December 22, in London Road, Deal.

A police spokesman said: "The woman was crossing the road when she was hit by a small, light-coloured car. We are anxious to speak to the car driver or anyone who may have information with regard to this person’s whereabouts, or has seen the car.

"It is believed that the vehicle will have sustained substantial damage, including broken headlights."
