An elderly man was found dead in his car in the Co-op car park in Deal

An elderly man has been found dead in his car in the Co-op car park in Deal.

SECAmb confirmed two ambulance crews attended at 1.45pm on Friday but were unable to resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was found in St Ethelburgas car park in West Street after reports a man believed to be in his 70s collapsed at the wheel.

Kent Police also attended and confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for Co-op said it was a very sad situation which was dealt with externally and staff at Co-op respected the man’s privacy.
