Polish trialist Jacek Magdzinski could land a permanent deal at Crabble.
Magdzinski scored his second goal in two games as Whites lost 2-1 at Lewes last Saturday.
"He works hard and his attitude is fantastic," said assistant manager Brown.
"I know talks are ongoing with his representatives but nothing is ever simple.
"Goalscorers are hard to find and he couldn’t have done any more but we’ll have to see what happens."
