Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter believes the race for the Blue Square Bet South title is "wide open again" following Whites’ resurgence under Chris Kinnear.

Mr Parmenter, who brought Kinnear back to Crabble in January in place of Nicky Forster, said : "I don’t think the title race is as cut and dried as it was three weeks ago – it’s quite wide open again. But we’re not putting any pressure on anybody, or setting any targets.

"When you bring a new manager in with just 14 games to go you can’t say to him, ‘you’ve got to win us the league,’ so we are taking it one game at a time but it’s shaping up to be an exciting end to the season."

He added: "I think it’s the way that the players have applied themselves that has pleased me most since Chris took over. The work ethic has gone up and I’m pleased with the players' attitude and approach."
