Domino's sign injures child in Deal

A child has been hit by a falling Domino's sign.

The incident happened this afternoon outside the pizza chain's Deal branch in Queen Street.

Domino’s spokesman, Will Hill, said: "We are shocked to hear of the incident at our Deal store and we wish the child involved a swift recovery.

"The franchisee who runs the store has launched an urgent investigation and for now, the store will remain closed.”

Witness David O'Brien said: "I was in Queen Street when the Domino's sign fell, it fell at 10.42am making a huge racket.

"The injured girl was still there with a crowd around her.

"I think the ambulance was there within 10 minutes and they treated her inside the ambulance, a critical car response car arrived half an hour later."

Police have been contacted for further information.
