The Deal Town FC team who clutched vistory at Wembley in 2000 could play a fundraising game after last Thursday's clubhouse fire.

Manager at the time, Tommy Sampson, said it would be the best fundraising option to collect cash and help rebuild another building.

He said: "When I say the club is close to my heart, that’s an understatement because it gave me the greatest times of my career."

It was on May 6, 2000, that the team won the FA Vase by beating Chippenham Town 1-0 in the final at Wembley.

He added: "I will dedicate myself to any fundraising that needs to be done.

"Anything I can do, I will try and do.

"The best thing would be to get that Wembley team together for another game."
