Charlton have brought Jay McEveley's loan spell at The Valley to an early end.

McEveley went back to Derby on Monday morning following a shoulder injury at the weekend.

The left-back dislocated his shoulder against Coventry in December and although he recovered to return against QPR on Boxing Day, another problem with his shoulder has ended his stay with the Addicks.

His return to Derby means Charlton now only have Martyn Waghorn and Graeme Murty as loan players.

Matthew Spring signed on an emergency loan in time to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday in what will become a permanent deal this week.
