Tony Burman has urged critical Dartford supporters to help lift his struggling side.

Defeat at Woking on Tuesday night saw the Darts slip into the Skrill Premier relegation zone, just three days after they crashed out of the FA Cup.

Burman said he understood the fans’ frustrations but also believes there is a deliberately negative minority among the Princes Park faithful.

He said: "There are people who are running not only the team down but they’re running the club down as well, which doesn’t help the situation.

"The position we’re in is not brilliant but if it’s not one thing we’re getting rattled for at the moment, it’s other things.

"It starts to snowball and there are certain people who want it to snowball, in my opinion.

"Year after year you have to beat these things that get put in front of you.

"It’s as easy as anything to jump on the bandwagon but let’s try to do something positive about it.”

Dartford travel to Macclesfield on Saturday, with Lee Noble suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 3-0 loss at Woking.
