Dartford boss Tony Burman expects to do some last-minute transfer business before the season starts on August 8.

Burman added Barry Cogan to his squad on Tuesday, making the former Gillingham and Dover midfielder his sixth signing of the summer.

But with plenty of free agents still out there, Burman isn’t finished yet.

He said: "I’ve spoken to one or two players for whom it hasn’t happened. They will try to find a club.

"You have to be lucky when you sign players, we all know that, but you should be in there talking to them and that’s what we have to do.

"Hopefully, there will be one or two coming in before the start of the season."

There are now just over two weeks to go until Darts open their National League South campaign at Hemel Hempstead.

Burman said: "We’ve still got to do a rebuilding job, getting everyone clicking together, which takes time.

"Overall, I’m reasonably happy with what we’ve got and what we’ve been doing. They’ve responded in training to what we’re trying to do.

"I’m not going to say ‘we’re going to do this or that,’ it’s a young-ish side and we’ve got a little bit of time to try to build a squad for the future."
