Two men died in a serious crash on A20 Main Road, near Farningham

Two young men have died following a crash between a car and a van.

The emergency services were called to the incident on the A20 Main Road, near Farningham, at around 4pm yesterday.

A red Ford Escort was heading east when it was involved in a crash with a silver Ford Panel van travelling in the opposite direction.

Police officers and paramedics attended the scene where the occupants of the Escort, two men aged 19 and 20, were confirmed dead.

Two men in the van were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that have not been described as serious.

Two air ambulances were also in attendance and road closures were in place throughout the afternoon and evening.

The A20 Main Road through Farningham was closed in both directions between the A225 Dartford Road and Eglantine Lane junctions, but had reopened by 5am this morning.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out inquiries and are also urging witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.
