Massive field fire sweeps across hectares of crops in Dartford

Another huge field fire broke out yesterday, with one woman capturing the destruction on video.

Fire crews went with seven engines to fight the flames which destroyed around six hectares of cut corn.

They were called to Burnt House Lane in Dartford at 5.42pm and did not finish fighting the inferno until 7.28pm.

No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is unknown.

Video footage of the destruction was posted on social media by Jodie Lee Stainer, from Hawley.

In the video she points out how close the fire is to her stables, fearing it might catch alight.

She said: "These fires are getting too close to home".
