Television star takes to village stage

STAR of the 118 adverts, Colin Carmichael, is coming to Horton Kirby tonight to celebrate the classic Emily Bronte novel, Wuthering Heights.

Carmichael has teamed up with artist, singer, musician, animator, director, performer and storyteller, Kazuko Hohki.

Kazuko was a founder of the Anglo-Japanese punk girl group The Frank Chickens and also had her own Channel 4 programme in 1989, Kazuko’s Karaoke Klub.

She wrote the play over several years and in collaboration with Colin.

Clive Bell, who specialises in far eastern music and studied the shakuhachi (Japanese flute) in Tokyo, is composing and directing the music on the night.

Tickets are priced at £7 each and the play is taking place in the village hall.
