With assistance from the Metropolitan Police, the riders were chased and one bike was stopped in Oakfield Lane where a boy was arrested.

A police helicopter helped find a second boy, who was chased through woodland on foot and eventually detained.

Both motorbikes were seized.

The boys, aged 14 and 17, both from Dartford, were arrested on suspicion of theft, handling stolen goods, dangerous driving, failing to stop and for driving without a licence or insurance.

They have been released on police bail until April 11 while inquiries continue.
