A primary school teacher beaten unconscious by a gang of thugs has joined the appeal to catch his attackers before they target someone else.

Andy Wicks fears the three men who knocked him to the ground and repeatedly kicked him in the head outside Dartford train station could strike again.

“They were out looking for a fight and if it hadn’t been me, it would have been someone else,” he said. “Their next victim may not be so lucky.”

The 45-year-old father of two has spoken out and released pictures of his injuries as police renew their appeal for information more than three months after the brutal, unprovoked attack.

Mr Wicks, a teacher in Sidcup, was heading to the station in Home Gardens at the end of a night out in the town with friends when he was approached by three men.

Officers say the trio began shouting abuse and threw a bottle at him before they pushed him to the floor, kicked him repeatedly in the head and face and left him lying on the ground.

Mr Wicks was left with a deep cut under his right eye, broken glasses and bruising to his hand following the attack at about 12.20am on Saturday, July 24.

He said: “As the assault continued all I could think about was my wife and children.”

Detective Sergeant Ashley Cooper, who is investigating the incident, has urged anyone with information to come forward by calling freephone 0800 405040 quoting reference B4/LSA of 01/09/2010.
