Delays on A2 near Bean and Darenth Interchange, Dartford, after crash involving three cars

There are severe delays on a major route after three cars crashed this morning.

The collision happened between the A2 coast-bound at Bean near Dartford and the A2 London-bound at junction 2 for the M25 and Darenth Interchange.

Two lanes of three were closed throughout the morning rush hour, but the road fully reopened just before 9am.

Traffic is still stretching back for around seven miles before Cobham services, with drivers facing hour-long delays.

The congestion is not being helped by another crash between a car and a van near Tollgate Services, Gravesend.

Police have been contacted for further information.
