Bluewater traffic jam chaos following two accidents

Shoppers have spoken of their frustration at getting caught in huge traffic jams trying to leave Bluewater.

An accident just outside the shopping centre has caused huge tailbacks, with motorists taking more than two hours just to move a few metres.

Another minor accident on the M25 has caused further delays.

A spokesman for the centre said at 8pm it was doing everything possible to get traffic moving again, and thanked those caught up in the chaos for their patience.

Users took to Twitter to vent their frustration.

One driver hit out, after being stuck in queues for three hours. He described the scene getting out of the car park as "carnage".

Sean Scolding called on Bluewater to open up the emergency exits to deal with the traffic.

While Ann Baker said: "When you are stranded this long at the airports you get free drinks. At Bluewater they just trap you in their car parks."

Some employed humour to get them through the traffic hold-ups.

'Renz' tweeted: "By the time I eventually leave this car park in Bluewater I may be eligible for a winter fuel payment. 'Every cloud...'"
