Leigh Academies Trust school Hartley Primary Academy rated Outstanding by Ofsted inspectors for second time

A primary school has received its second “Outstanding” Ofsted rating in a row.

Hartley Primary Academy, which is run by the Leigh Academies Trust, received a glowing report.

Published this week, it said: “Pupils flourish at this school.

“They are well motivated and learn how to become inquisitive and independent.

“Pupils behave impeccably in lessons.

“They strive to meet the staff’s high expectations and hold each other to these standards too.

“Pupils feel safe in school. They know that staff will help them with any worries that they might have.”

The school was marked “Outstanding” in all six areas of examination.

Ofsted said: “Pupils delight in learning. They learn the importance of perseverance and demonstrate this when producing high-quality work across their subjects.”

The school’s principal, Nicole Galinis, said: “I could not be more proud of our staff and pupils.

“Hartley is a school which aims to give every student the best possible education and this report highlights that and more.

“Our pupils are amazing and inspectors noted their enthusiasm for learning, support for their peers, and exceptional behaviour throughout the visit.”

The academy is one of the stable of 32 schools run by the Leigh Academies Trust.

Among the others are Bearsted Primary Academy in Maidstone, which has also recently been rated “Outstanding”.

The trust is also due to take on the failing Oasis Academy on the Isle of Sheppey, which looks set to be turned into two schools, run by different providers, from next year.

Simon Beamish, the trust’s chief executive, said: “Under Nicole's remarkable leadership and the dedication of her staff, Hartley Primary Academy has become a paragon of educational excellence.”

Hartley Primary Academy, in Round Ash Way, Hartley, has 443 pupils and runs both a breakfast and after-school club.
