Dartford Valley Rugby Club gears up for derby clash against Bexley with a community fun day

Never mind the Six Nations, the weekend's greatest sporting spectacle is in Dartford as the town's two rugby clubs gear up for one of biggest games in their respective calendars.

Dartford Valley Rugby Club's (DVRFC) first team is gearing up for a derby clash with Bexley RFC tomorrow afternoon, and a strong turnout is expected.

The club is taking advantage of what should be a big crowd by putting on a community fun day to coincide with the match.

Attendees can look forward to a mobile bar, a raffle, a popcorn stand, and plenty more, and the DVRFC youth academy will also be in action.

It all gets underway at the Leigh Academy in Green Street Green Road from 12.30pm, running until 4pm.

Pick up next week's Dartford Messenger for pictures from the day.

Correction: This article originally stated that DVRFC was the only rugby club in Dartford. In fact, Bexley RFC is also based in Dartford, while Dartfordians RFC is based in Bexley.
