Thames Water launch probe after sewage spews onto walkway near Holiday Express in University Way, Dartford

An investigation will take place after raw sewage was spotted spewing out onto a walkway near a busy trunk road.

It was spotted on the path next to a turnoff on the A282 leading to the Dartford Crossing this morning (May 22).

The water is coming from the river under the tunnel by the Holiday Express in University Way, near Bob Dunn Way.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: "We received reports of a sewage leak near the A282 in Dartford earlier today.

"Our teams are currently on their way to investigate the issue and we are sorry to residents and motorists for any inconvenience caused."
