Princes Park hosts Home Nations petanque

Kent was well represented in the England squad that continued their domination of the Home Nations petanque tournament over the weekend at Princes Park in Dartford.

In the England 3 team were Kent’s Dean Ashby, Steve Brown and Matthew Whatley, all from Tovil Working Men’s Club, Maidstone.

England 7 comprised Alan Cregeen from Ashford and the Ramsgate pair Alex Bruce and Dave Blakely. England 3 won 11 of their 12 games with England 7 going one better in achieving a clean sweep.

Teams from the England, Scotland and Wales Petanque Associations competed with England registering their highest ever tally of 82 games of a possible 144. Wales won 38 and Scotland 24.
