Boy racers moved on from Ackers Drive, Ebbsfleet

A group of boy racers were given their marching orders “within minutes” after police were alerted to suspected anti-social activity at a new homes development.

Residents reported the issue shortly after the car enthusiasts turned up at Ackers Drive in Ebbsfleet on Saturday night.

It happened shortly after 11.20pm and the group was quickly dispersed.

Six police cars were in attendance.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers were on scene within ten minutes and dispersed the nuisance vehicles by 11.40pm.”

Dartford Councillor Peter Harman, who has long fought against nuisance driving in nearby Crossways Boulevard, Greenhithe, said: “This is a great example of what can be done if the residents alert the police to this sort of behaviour straight away.

“If the racers are still on site the police have asked residents to call 999 and they will come as quickly as they can – which they did.”
