Peace on a Dartford street after noisy neighbour silenced

A noisy neighbour who plagued a Dartford street has been silenced following a string of complaints.

James Dean Caird has lost his CD player, speakers, amplifier, and TV surround-sound system after disturbing residents in Alamein Gardens, Stone.

Dartford council’s environmental protection team, which brought the prosecution against him, pulled the plug by gathering evidence with a noise recorder.

Caird pleaded guilty to five counts of breaching a noise abatement notice at Dartford Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 12.

He was fined £500 - £100 per count - and £300 costs, plus a £15 victim’s surcharge. An agreement was set for him to pay back the fine at £20 per month.

A council spokesman said the noise abatement notice served against him will remain.
