Southeastern reveals Sunday and bank holiday parking charges will go down at Dartford station

Southeastern has announced parking charges at Dartford station are going down this week following a review.

Just as Darent Valley Hospital was putting its charges up, Southeastern declared that it was lowering the cost of Sunday and Bank Holiday parking at Dartford to just £1.

The new tariff will be introduced from Sunday. It means drivers at Dartford will save 80% on the previous fee of £5.

A blanket fee of £1.50 has been introduced from today for parking after 6pm from Monday-Saturday in any Southeastern operated car park, other than high speed stations.

The announcement follows a review of car park charges by the train operating company in response to customer feedback.

David Statham, managing director of Southeastern, said: "We listened to our passengers and reviewed our parking prices to see if we could help deliver better value for money.

"These lower tariffs will be of particular help to those looking to use the train for leisure travel on evenings and weekends."
