Suspect extradited in George Barker murder case

A man arrested in northern Cyprus in connection with the murder of a Kent man is to be extradited back to the UK.

The Met Police confirmed a judge has ordered Charlie Riddington return to face charges following the stabbing of George Barker.

The 24-year-old was fatally wounded outside of Double K Gym on Stable Lane in Bexleyheath in November 2016.

A South Darenth resident and gym regular, he was attacked by five men as he arrived at the Stable Lane site.

It is believed those involved had waited inside a container for him.

A Met spokesman said: "Charlie Riddington was arrested on a European arrest warrant on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service on Friday, 12 October.

"On Tuesday, 23 October a judge ordered his extradition back to the UK."
