More than 140 leads in doctor murder case

DETECTIVES investigating the brutal murder of a Kent doctor say they are still following various lines of enquiry.

Det Ch Insp Anne Brittain, who is leading the investigation into Dr Victoria Anyetei's death, continues to meet with relatives to update them on the prgress in the case.

The 54-year-old consultant paediatrician found fatally stabbed in her car on the driveway of her home in Teynham Road, Dartford, at around 10.20am on August 14.

She had left her house at 8am to go to work at St Thomas' Hospital in London.

Police say they have visited 120 homes as part of their house-to-house enquiries and handed out 2,000 leaflets during a road check in the area a week after the murder.

A dedicated team of 22 officers and staff is sifting through 142 pieces of information that have come either from direct calls to the incident room or passed to police by members of the public.

However, police are still searching for the missing key to Dr Anyetei's Toyota Avensis car.

Det Ch Insp Brittain said: "The investigating team is busy following a number of lines of enquiry from the large amount of information we have accumulated so far, but we are still interested in hearing from anyone who might remember something from the events of that morning."
