Medal haul for Dartford athletes at British Masters Championships

Dartford Harriers athletes returned home with medals from last weekend’s British Masters Athletics Federation Championships at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.

Cara Oliver finished second in the women’s over-35 1,500m in a time of 5min 01.73sec and was runner-up in the 800m in 2.27.2.

In the women’s over-50 section, Teresa May was first in the pole vault (2.10m), first in the triple jump (8.67m) and third in the high jump (1.30m).

Anne Goad was first in the javelin (25.15m) and second in the discus (23.65m). In the women’s over 55 category, Pat Halstead finished third in the 1,500m (5.46.44) and fifth in the 800m (2.56.77).

In the men’s over-70 category, Arthur Kimber finished first in the 800m (2.53.73) and fourth in the 1,500m (6.00.65).

There were notable successes for Dartford Harriers in the Kent Young Athletes League at Erith on Sunday.Anne Goad

Eirinn Ounsworth claimed three first places in the under-13 girls, impressing in the A string 75m, high jump and long jump.

Lucy Hickmott enjoyed triple success with victories in the under-15 girls’ A string 200m, 800m and high jump, while Gemma Brown was first in the A string discus and B string javelin.
