THE body of a man has been found in Dartford Creek. It was spotted lying in a stream behind the Phoenix Public House, Hythe Street, Dartford around 11.10am Sunday.

The body, aged between 25 and 35, was retrieved by police with the help of firefighters.

Police are investigating but it is understood there are no suspicious circumstances. Officers are trying to establish the identity of the dead man.

A postmortem was due to be held today.
