A20 Swanley Bypass partly shut following “serious collision” near junction 1 of M20 and M25

A major road is closed following a serious collision.

Emergency services are at the A20 Swanley Bypass after a vehicle reportedly came off the road and crashed into railings.

Traffic website Inrix has reported: “A car has collided with the barrier on a bridge section, overhanging the footpath below, just after the Quarry.”

All traffic on the motorway was stopped just after 7am and the road is shut London-bound between the M25/ M20 at junction 1 and the B2173.

National Highways doesn’t expect things to be cleared until around 4pm.

It tweeted about the crash and say traffic is being diverted via local routes.

A spokesperson for police said officers were called at 6.55am to the collision near Goldsel Road, Swanley.

“Officers and ambulance crews are in attendance and the London-bound carriageway is currently closed,” they said.
