M25 closed near Dartford Crossing after man spotted on bridge

The motorway was closed near the Dartford Crossing after a man was spotted on a bridge.

Police said traffic in both directions of the M25 near junction 1 was stopped due to concerns for his welfare.

They were called at around 6am to deal with the incident, which caused traffic disruption and delays.

Police spokesman Richard Spillett said: "The man has now been brought to safety and the motorway has reopened."
