He is one of three contestants who will be hoping to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

John strongly advocated for Thomas, 32, to remain in the competition on last night's episode, which saw contestants make mouth-watering desserts.

Thomas, a former Dartford Grammar School pupil, said: "It's so surreal, it will probably sink in over a pint and then I will be absolutely elated but at the moment I'm just like, MasterChef finals, it's pretty crazy.

MasterChef continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
